The Social Impact Award’s debut in the Czech Republic is slowly but surely entering its second half. What an opportunity to summarize some of our hallmark events.
First of all, we’ve been very happy to see that the idea of social entrepreneurship resonates with many young people. What was our first clue? Around 70 people attended out kick-off event, and the interest in our workshops did not falter one bit! Due to a limited capacity, we unfortunately had to turn-away several interested participants.
The goal of our workshops was to aid participants in developing their social business ideas, share approaches regarding securing necessary funding, introduce different project strategies and business plans, and last but not least – to fine tune their elevator pitches. At our last workshop, participants presented their ideas and discussed them with members of the jury. In return, the jury members gave participants useful feedback as well as advice on which direction to take their project in. Overall, we have received a lot of positive feedback for our workshops, and we’ve also learned a lot about how we can improve workshops and skill shares in the future.
Now, we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of all of the different project submissions. The deadline is coming up – next Thursday! After that, we will have some challenging decisions to make, namely to pick 5 projects from the Czech Republic that will make it onto the next round of the competition. Stay tuned and check back in with us at this website and facebook to see which projects make it to the final!
