Last news from Czech Republic

So far, SIA’s debut in the Czech Republic has been a success. We received 32 applications focusing on issues across the board. The team spent Easter time reading over applications and making the tough call of choosing 14 to pass onto the local jury. We received so many solid, innovative, and unique idea proposals, that we sure didn’t envy the jury their decision-making!

The five projects that won the local round and move on to the final are Bezobalu (a store selling products without packaging), Pragulic (a tour guide agency employing homeless tour guides), Center for Superkids (Center for children and youth who take care of their chronically ill parents), Enterprising Schools (helping schools engage in business activities and raise their own funds), and Volunteer2 (an online platform where volunteers will post about their activities in order to attract donors to the non-profit sector).

Last week, our team has been working hard on preparing our five projects for community voting. We took advantage of the gorgeous weather and filmed some of the videos outside (and others in the HUB’s cozy nooks).

The videos have been edited and subtitled and from tomorrow will be ready for your viewing! More importantly, we are waiting for you to vote for one idea from each country. Each country winner will receive 1500 euros for their project.

We wish all the projects good luck in the international finale & community voting! Break a leg!
