As the summer has reached its end, we should tell you more about our finalists proceeding in their project plans. Let´s not just talk about it and bring you some fresh information on how far each of them has got in the first quarter, since the result announcement.

At first it is important to stress, that if there is a person that spent the whole summer doing nothing and partying, it was definitely none of our final Social Impact Award projects representatives from the Czech Republic.

We had a chance to observe their work and watch them during collective meetings at the Prague Hub. And there is no project that would not have moved at least a little step forward.

Especially projects, which haven´t reached financial award in any category and are motivated only by their will and enthusiasm are the best proof of this. One example for all is a team of the Superkids project. This project has gained new members during the summer, started to cooperate with several organizations, which have experience working with their target group and in the same time, has written several grants. Apart of that are members of Superkids starting to build a volunteer net and trying to find appropriate rooms for realization of their planned activities.

Now we are getting to projects which were successful and won in single categories. This also meant financial support for them and higher expectations concerning their activity during summer months. They didn´t disappoint at all, but on the contrary….!

The Pragulic project has become a media star. Not only internet media and press, also radio and television were interested in their idea. But Pragulic team members did not put up with that and continued founding their NGO, recruiting and training new tourist guides and already in August, they started test operation of their guided tours.  Nowadays they are already in full operation and it is possible for everyone to take part on their guided tours. Apart from improving the tours, members of Pragulic are working on design and English version of their website at the moment.

The biggest news from Czech winner of Social Impact Award Enterprising School (Podnikavá škola) is definitely a contract with a prestigious Prague secondary school „Gymnázium na Vítězné pláni“. This contract is about to be signed very soon with school partners and should officially start activities of the project at this school. The business plan has already been approved by the school management, offered products and services are prepared and meetings with pupils and school employees are running. Members of the team are also working on continual update and complementation of their website.

As you can see, things which were a couple of months ago just a dream are slowly becoming reality. We keep our fingers crossed for people who work on these projects and wish them good luck and enthusiasm on their way to changing the world around them.
