Content Manager

We are looking for a creative Content Manager that will drive the creation of content for the international Social Impact Award (SIA) communication channels, and measure its success. The role will be working in close collaboration with the Communications Coordinator of SIA.

Social Impact Award, founded in 2009, is Europe’s largest community of early-stage social entrepreneurs under 30. We run education and incubation programs in more than 15 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia to support early-stage social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative business solutions to tackle the most important societal challenges of our times. We do so by hosting events and organizing workshops to raise awareness for social entrepreneurship, teaching the necessary skills to navigate from vague intentions to promising ventures, providing access to networks, and promoting the best teams with the Social Impact Award.

And we are just getting started. On the brink of achieving significant growth with an even stronger presence and impact around the world in the years to come, we are committed to further nurture a globally diverse community of individuals and organizations united by the imagination and drive to pursue enterprising ideas for the world.

As part of this evolution, we are now looking for a creative individual to join our international team as Content Manager. This position will be crucial in allowing us to scale our communication efforts and will support the growth of our communication channels. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some experience in content creation roles, has a passion for social media and (digital) communications, is up to date with the latest communication trends and platforms, is looking forward to working in a fast-paced, international start-up environment that currently works in 18 countries. We are looking for storytellers, those able to transform stories of inspiring entrepreneurs into captivating digital content. 

Job Description

We are looking for your support in the following areas: 

  • Sourcing, curating, and producing engaging content for international SIA channels (social media, newsletter, blog, website)
  • Supporting the ideation and implementation of global campaigns, including liaising with local SIA teams in the process
  • Setting up, running, and evaluating the performance of social media ads and Google Ads 
  • Supporting the implementation of data tracking mechanisms with basic analysis
  • Supporting and advising local SIA teams on their local content creation efforts
  • Directly coordinating content production with SIA graphic designer

  • We offer you the possibility to personally determine the number of hours for the position and we can do anything between 20 and 40 hours per week. 
  • The position can be based in Austria or Germany, on the base of employment, or on a contractual basis if remote. We offer the following legal frameworks for collaboration:
    • Option 1: Freelance work (one-year project contract, salary depending on the individual agreement based on candidate’s qualifications and detailed project scope)
    • Option 2: Part-time or full-time employment in Vienna or Berlin for 12 months, with the possibility of extension (salary according to the individual agreement based on the qualifications of the candidate as well as of hours)

Are we a match?

We are looking for a person that brings the following things to our team: 

  • Some experience in the creation of communication content, especially for social media
  • Ideally, you have some experience in a creative/marketing agency OR experience with marketing/communications in youth-focused organizations
  • You’re on point with trends on social media and have a strong interest in how they work and evolve
  • Strong writing skills, that include the ability to write in different voices for different mediums and audiences
  • Knowing how to turn content into engaging and captivating stories, but also understanding the technical setup that can support you in spreading them further
  • Strong interpersonal skills, being comfortable and excited to connect to our community to find exciting content
  • Ability to go out of your way to make the most out of limited resources
  • A go-getter personality – we don’t expect you to know everything, but you are eager and capable to learn new things
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Good self-organizational skills and being comfortable with driving projects and development of new ideas 
  • Experience in working with Buffer, Mailchimp, Figma, and similar would be considered a plus
  • As we have a strong focus on Central & Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and East Africa, being in tune and interested with any of those regions will be considered an advantage
