Impact Camp

The ‘Impact Camp’ provides the winning teams of Social Impact Award 2018 with an intense personal learning experience and aims to equip them with essential skills for a successful journey as future entrepreneurs and change makers. Zooming out of purely entrepreneurship related topics, participants will develop their individual capacities in more fundamental skill areas such as leadership, innovation, strategy and sales. A highly experienced team of facilitators will lead the participants through a mix of hands-on skill workshops, interactive learning simulations and inspirational exchanges with experts and peers.

How to make the most out of it

How to prepare for the ‘Impact Camp’ and get the best experience:

Come with an open and entrepreneurial mindset

Everything you will experience at the SIA Summit is an invitation for you to challenge yourself on a personal level. Be curious, seize the opportunities and drive your own learning!

Leave the daily work at the airport

Sure – we know that the world keeps on turning and you need to keep up with daily tasks. However, the better you can reserve your headspace and focus for the SIA Summit, the more rewarding and impactful the experience will be!

Get ready to rock the first SIA Global Village ever

On the last night of the Summit, we’ll have a “Global Village”, where each country represented at the Summit will present their culture, food, and drinks. We encourage you to bring some local/national drink – both non-alcoholic and alcoholic 😉 – all types of food & sweets, information material (or anything else that represents your culture and fits in your luggage) to share with other participants and show the rich diversity of our global community.

What should I prepare before arrival?

Packing

SIA Summit 2018 will gather participants from 20+ different countries, diverse in culture, history and backgrounds. We encourage you to bring some local/national drink or sweets to share with other participants in order to introduce them to your country. November weather might get a bit chilly and windy in Tbilisi. Daily high temperatures vary from 9 °C to 15 °C. Short rain sessions should be expected, but, most likely, we will catch plenty of sunshine. At night temperature probably won't go below 0 °C, but still don’t forget to bring some warm and comfortable clothes. In Georgia the standard voltage is 220V and standard frequency is 50Hz, as in almost all of Europe. The power sockets are of type C and F.

Relevant Information

All your meals will be covered during the stay in Tbilisi, including dinner on Tuesday, November the 6th, and breakfast on Saturday, November 10th.
The currency in Georgia is called Lari (GEL), which is divided into 100 Tetris. Approximately 3 Laris make 1 Euro or 1,15 Dollar. The daily exchange rate can be looked up online. You can exchange the money at the airport or at TBC, Bank of Georgia, Liberty Bank and small currency exchange offices near the event location and touristic sights.
The official language of Georgia is Georgian (ქართული) famous for its beautiful alphabet. Most people speak either English or Russian. In public places (airport, metro, banks, hotel, etc.) you can easily find all the necessary information in English, as well.

Your Profile

How do I get to the hotel?

Depending on your arrival time, there are several ways to get from the airport to the hotel by public transportation. The public bus #37 works 24/7 and leaves from the stop in front of the Arrival Hall to the city center every 30 minutes. Other buses run from 7 AM to 24 PM. If you arrive in this period, you can take #37 bus from the airport to Kachueti Church stop, and then switch to #23 or #95 to come to Chitaia Square. Fabrika is just two minutes walk from there. One way fee is 0.50 GEL. You can buy the ticket on the bus.

You can also take #37 to any of these metro stations (metro works from 6 AM to 24 PM): Samgori, 300 Aragveli, Avlabari, Freedom Square. You’ll need to get a metro card for 3 GEL (one way costs 0.50 GEL) and reach Marjanishvili from any of these stations. Fabrika is located in 8-minute walk distance from Marjanishvili Metro Station.

If you arrive between 24PM – 6AM, you can take #37 bus from the airport to the city center (Baratashvili stop or Pushkin Square) and walk from there to Fabrika or catch a cab. You can also take a taxi from the airport. Fee might vary from 25-40 GEL depending on the taxi company.

Where will the event take place?

The SIA Summit 2018 will be held at Fabrika, a multifunctional urban complex located in the historical part of Tbilisi. Housed in a former Soviet sewing factory, Fabrika will be our place of work, play and sleep.

Fabrika is a space for rebellious minds to create and share. Once a soviet sewing factory has been revived and transformed into a multi-functional urban space bringing together enthusiastic individuals ready to stretch their minds with new exhilarating experiences. The space now continues its life as the popular hotspot that unites urban style cafes and bars, artist studios and shops, educational institutions, co-working space, the biggest in the region hostel and mind blowing open space courtyard. Fabrika is the creative center of Tbilisi with a very unique atmosphere. We can’t wait to welcome you at Fabrika!

You want to spend more time in Tbilisi?

If you would like to arrive earlier to Tbilisi or stay a little longer after the summit, here is some great news: With the promo code siasummit2018 you get a booking discount of 15% for any stay in the period of November 2nd to 11th.

Enjoy your stay in Tbilisi and explore the city. Named as one of the hottest travel destinations by Guardian, Vogue, and National Geographic, Tbilisi takes pride in its rich history, delicious food, world-known techno-clubs and emerging art and fashion scenes. The capital of Georgia is also home to various innovative startups, such as Treepex, co-working spaces, like Impact Hub Tbilisi, and Technology Park, providing financial support and training to young entrepreneurs. All of this makes Tbilisi a perfect destination to host SIA Summit in 2018, a historic year, which marks 100th anniversary of Georgia’s first independent republic.
