Visegrad Fund: Interregional Non-Formal Learning Program for Young Social Entrepreneurs
Bridging the Western Balkans and Visegrad regions to empower young social entrepreneurs through a dynamic, cross-border non-formal learning program.
Project Overview
The project draws on the strengths of established entrepreneurship ecosystems in the Visegrad countries and addresses the unique challenges faced by youth in the Western Balkans, aiming to build a new generation of changemakers equipped to launch impactful social ventures.
Objectives
- Equip young people (aged 15–30) with practical entrepreneurial knowledge, soft skills, and intercultural competencies.
- Foster peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and cross-regional cooperation.
- Transfer proven support models from Visegrad countries to the Western Balkans, adapting them to local needs and creating sustainable support structures.
Key Outputs
- Interregional Learning Program: A tailored curriculum combining entrepreneurship education with intercultural skills, delivered through a blend of online and in-person activities for 80 young social entrepreneurs (40 from Visegrad, 40 from Western Balkans).
- Capacity Building for Youth Workers: Capacity building training for 8 youth workers enhancing their ability to deliver impactful non-formal learning programs.
- Cross-Border Networking Events: Interactive sessions, workshops, and peer exchanges that promote collaboration and knowledge sharing between participants from both regions.
- Codification of the program: Development and dissemination of a toolkit summarizing best practices, methodologies, and lessons learned, made available to youth organizations and stakeholders across Europe.
Beneficiaries
- Direct: 80 young social entrepreneurs and 8 youth workers/experts from the four participating countries.
- Indirect: Young people, students, and early-career professionals inspired through outreach, stories, and resources disseminated by project partners and their networks.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
